Pavones, Southern Costa Rica. "Where the beach road ends and the good life begins!"Our region is a unique place where you can rediscover your passion for life in a healthy and happy environment.
People often visit Costa Rica many times before discovering the greater Pavones area, and many maps show no roads to what many consider the real Costa Rica. Primary forest, tropical fruits & vegetables, every color of bird imaginable, and animals indigenous to this area welcome all who venture this far south.
Surfing, stand up paddling, hiking, bird watching, beach walks, fishing and more keep the body active and the mind sharp. In fact, one of the longest point breaks in the world is found in Pavones – at times a ride so long, your legs will be shaking before the ride is over!
Pavones is located along the Golfo Dulce (Sweet Gulf). The Golfo Dulce is one of only three tropical fjords in the world, and features 600 foot deep waters in the center that attract humpback whales on their annual migrations.
A short boat ride across the bay takes you to the entrance of the Osa Peninsula which National Geographic named as one of the most biologically intensive areas on the planet.
The international population that resides in the pueblo of Pavones offers a diversity of professionals, naturalists, active retirees, yogis, surfers, and small business owners. The little town has come a long way in the past several years with improvements to schools, communication, parks and infrastructure at the top of the list.
