Pavones Ocean View Pool House

Costa Rica, Pavones

Description
This magical property is called “La Veranda de la Reina” (the Queen’s Veranda) because it has some of the most beautiful views in the world and possibly the largest viewing area in all of Pavones – fit for a queen. The views are the heart of la Veranda, and the sights and sounds of nature are its soul.

The completely private and secure main lodge meanders along a natural ridge with over 200 feet of decks, covered walkways and sliding glass walls. Nestled against a biological corridor and adjoining primary rain forest, the lodge overlooks 300 meters of landscaped and natural tropical lowland rain forest edging the beaches where the Pacific Ocean meets the Gulf of Dulce. Lulled by the sounds of surf and over 50 species of birds, and refreshed by ocean breezes, one can enjoy panoramic views of the Pacific to the south, the Osa Peninsula to the west, and to the north, the 40 mile length of the Gulf of Dulce. Clear Costa Rican light magnifies the ever- changing grandeur of the vistas, and in the night you will be amazed by the clarity of your view of a startlingly bright moon or star-filled sky.

From your roost at La Veranda, exotic wildlife, from breeching whales to resident birds, mammals, iguanas, and butterflies will excite your senses without your ever having to leave the saltwater swimming pool. Relaxing in the "jungle to beach" hillside environment, among the tropical Polynesian-style architecture, exotic hardwood structures and professionally landscaped gardens and banana and mango orchards, you may not want to leave - but if you choose to, you are moments away from world class surfing, kayaking, stand up paddling, fishing, hiking and more. From our front gate, La Veranda is only 200 steps to the rarely-occupied beaches and tidal pools.

Maid service (2 hours daily, M-F) to clean communal areas is included in your price. Personal laundry service is available at an extra charge of $5 per load.

Should you need more room, at the bottom of the property is a modern two bedroom, fully equipped guest house. Details and pictures of this house can be seen on this website at “Jungle View House.”

Safety Information: Architecturally, La Veranda was designed to maximize the views and wildlife observation, meaning there are many terraces, walkways and low window sills without railings. For this reason we do not recommend La Veranda for children under 6 or persons with balance or ambulatory limitations.

Pavones still benefits from being at the "end of the road". Wild life on land and sea is thriving and the atmosphere among the visitors and resident Europeans, North Americans and Latin Americans is friendly and laid back. Pavones is one of the last Costa Rican beach destinations not spoiled by major development. We hope you will decide to come and stay a while.

Note: Rental premium and week-long minimum stay apply to Christmas and Santa Semana holidays.
